yes you might have problems in a bathroom where steam is often encountered...
Those of us who have our racks in the bathroom have sealed the rack to prevent moisture from getting in in some way...
add a nice glass front to your rack to make it a cabinet, and use some weather stripping, or some other sealant, and your problem is solved for the most part.
