Steven's razors are - from my experience, at least... - always tip top razors. BUT... he sais on the site that the razors are shave-ready and require no stropping before the first use. He sais it clearly on the website.

Thank you, glad there are no hard feelings. Spike keeps asking me what I'm going to name it and I'm not sure yet. Pippin would be the obvious choice, thus having a Lord Of The Rings link. But it is also stamped San Francisco which leads me in a Charmed direction.
