FS: Belgium/coticule slurry stones
I bought a belgium/coticule combination hone 2 weeks ago and sadly it before I even got to try it out, it met its demise. I also found out the hard way, coticule is very soft.
So I decided to cut it up by hand and offer it as slurry stones. I cut it with a coping saw, coz I don't have fancy diamond cutting disks and fancy machines that take such discs. I learned that it was faster and better to cut the stone dry. When the hone was wet I only got 2 slurry stones cut before the teeth wore right off the blade, when dry however I got the rest of the hone cut and there is plently of life left in the blade. I just thought some might be interested in that small bit of info.
I'm also starting to think I am not supposed to own a coticule/belgian combo as this is the second time something has gone wrong..... Anyway here are the pics, I took 1 of the coticule and one of the side to show thickness and the blue, which is actually more like purple than blue.
The first slurry stone labled 1, is 3.5x2.5CM The coticule is 6mm and the blue is 1cm thick. I'd like $20USD plus shipping. (PENDING)
The second pic of three slurry stones (unnumbered). Each one is just shy of 4x2CM. With the same thickness mentioned above. I'd like $15USD each plus shipping.
The third photo labled 3: has 2 larger slurry stones. Each is 8x3.5CM with same thickness as above. I'd like $35USD each plus shipping.
Shipping via normal post, which takes 10 or so days, is $5 to US and $7 to rest of world.
Note: I cannot accept credit card payments for these slurry stones.
PM if interested.
