Default Penhaligon's NYC Store Closed/Relocating

I got a letter from Penhaligon's the other day. They have closed their NYC store. They say they will be opening in another location. You can still find their products at Saks and their store Manager will be working there.

I really hope they re-open. That was a great little store with an excellent staff.

Penhaligon's closed their Southern California store a few years ago and reopened as part of the Fred Segal boutique in Santa Monica; maybe they will do the same in NYC. They also closed their store at the Forum shops in Vegas and reopened in a smaller venue at The Wynn. Looks like a trend to smaller spots.

There's always mail-order.

I don't think they can get much smaller than their store was on Madison Ave. You could pretty much extend your arms and touch both side walls.

Floris closed their store earlier last year too. I hope I'm not going to be confined to the Dept. stores.

PH is among my very favorite companies. I recently learned from their customer service in their internet store that they are releasing a new line of men's shaving products in 2009. If you have any requests -- write to them soon and often!

Yeah, this is a disturbing trend. First Floris and now Penhaligon's. I really enjoyed Penhaligon's store in So Cal and every time I went in there, it was packed full of folks buying stuff. Now I get my Floris and Penhaligon's on-line but it's just not the same. Maybe I'll have to check out Fred Segal next time I'm in that part of town.

It's a shame they closed on Madison Ave. However, anytime that I walked by the store was empty. Though the store was tiny, the rent in that part of Madison may the most expensive in the city.
