Studying
So I know a few members on here are still in school and I jsut had a thought of an experiment. What if you had one cologne that you only wore when studying and taking tests. Since smell is the strongest tie to memory it might work? Just a thought as i avoid studying for a test tomorrow.

Yeah, that experiment you are referring to is called 'context recall'
It does actually work btw.

I think you should study anyway.
What's the class?
(Get something that smells a lot, it will affect people around you and raise your grade)

My buddies and I used to always listen to either a rediculious 80's mix or the George Thorogood anthology while doing our weekly physics problem sets. This went on for most of our sophomore and junior years, and I still think of all that agony when I hear certain songs.
My point is this: be sure you don't associate anything you like with anything that could cause bad memories.
On another note, I used to hit the FlashChat when I was putting off studying/writing papers.

It is just a summer class to get rid of my science requirement it is an online Astronomy class. The grade doesnt transfer it just matters if I get a C or above, so well the effort is not as much as it should be.

I've nearly been driven to homicide several times by those chewing gum during tests. Believe it or not I actually started carrying earplugs in my backpack... Hey perhaps I should have just soaked the earplugs in cologne

Smells work
Grab a batch of mint. Easily obtainable and sniff it while you study and then sniff it during the test when you blank.
Best thing is to study in the same clothes, (Einstein's four suits of the same)smells (mint?) sights (try to study in the class if possible) and sounds (no lyrics-let the subject be the lyrics).
The brain can recall better if you keep it on the right path.
Be efficient and good luck

I understand that the essential oil of clove helps with "mental focus or concentration" and "courage". It is the first thing that comes to my mind. I do not know what colognes are out there that has clove. A caveat to this is that essential clove oil is a skin irritant.
