Default 3 razor set

Hello all

I just got these photos in the mail, from a privat man selling razor´s. It is a M Hall 3-set, ivory from 1810.

What do you all think? Good? Good maker/razors?

I have not seen so many razor with one handle and loose blades. Why? A bad way of holding the blades? May come loose during shaving?

Thanks for looking

It so you can change the blades between shaves. I believe.

One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

Thanks doc for the reply.
Yes to have more than one blade ready for shaving, handy when traveling and so, but I was thinking maybe when it gets old, the blades may get loos during a shave. Not sure if it will happen.

Anyone had a razor like these who can tell me?

Looks like a cool collector's set. Also appears that the third blade may have been left attached and gotten a bit corroded due to humidity or moisture of some type. It is not clear from the pictures whether the mechanism for holding the blades onto the base assembly is intact and still in working condition.

Thaks for the reply´s.
Well the mechanism is working like new! The owner do tell me so.

Yes, it may be a collector´s set, but I will have it restored and use them everyday, that is why they where made.

If you can trust the sellers opinion about the mechanism, it looks like a great set, just needs alittle cleaning.
