Default Long Swaty

I have an 8" long three line Swaty hone that I've had for quite a while. Its top is intact and the bottom has one shallow chip that does not interfere with honing. Someone is looking to buy one and I am considering selling it. I consider a fair price for a normal sized, lapped and shipped Swaty to be in the range of $30-40 though I fully realize that one can take a shot on ebay and potentially get them cheaper.

I would like to get input from the collective regarding the value of the long version of the Swaty. I don't know how rare they are but mine is the only one I have seen. I have a value in mind but I would like to know what others think. So, what's it worth?

No.

I'm sure you know why I'm posting this.

I just don't want to sell it and then discover that out of the 3.4 million Swatys made, only 12 of them were long and 11 of them are currently in the possession of a middle eastern sheik!

Please guys, do any of you know anything about the value/rarity of an 8" long Swaty hone?

I would think that it would be at least double what the average swaty is worth, hope somebody who knows for sure(w/documentation) would respond to this query.

I'd guess it's worth more than double. Price per lenght does not scale lineraly, plus that must be a rather rare hone. I think I've only heard of a long swaty here, in this thread, and in one other place. Personally, if I had a long swaty, I'd keep it and use it. I use a normal one, and I wouldn't mind having the extra length.

Holy moley, that's more than what I paid for a regular one. Amazing deal!
