A question better posed in the eBay / Auction sub-forum. Moving it there!

They only really show one razor and it has some chips and either tarnish or pitting (hard to tell) but if you can get them for a song they should give you plenty of experience in razor restoration.

Subsequent investigation revealed the razor belonged to Toshiro Kawasaki a WWll Kamakazee pilot who was killed when his plane slammed into the USS Yorktown. His last act was to shave with that razor. It is suspected the razor is haunted.

Like they say, value is in the eye of the buyer. The blades look rough, but if I were bidding (I'm not) I'd go up to $50 - around $7 each - and hope I could get 3-4 really good restorations out of the bunch. As already stated they'd give good experience in restoring and honing. You should ask for pics of all the blades before deciding anything, though. Logically you'd think the one blade pic posted would be of the best one, so....

If I was the seller, I'd put up a picture of the worst one and just say all the others were better. Why not ask the seller? If they're all like that, I agree with $50 bucks and say go for it.

Here's what the seller said. Those look a bit rough to me, but it appears my D8C can clean them up. Having never really tried this, what do you think?
BTW, THANKS for all the help.
"Hi Scott, the blades are not pitted with light surface corrosion. They will clean up nicely if you desire. All the blades are in the same condition and I attached a close-up of both sides. Thanks for your interest and good luck if you bid on them. Eddie"

OUCH, and the auctions already up to $51. That tops the current estimated value, but I'd take opinions.

You never know but that set might go for twice the fifty bucks. Someone who already has the skills to restore them could probably make a good buck doing so and reselling them. It is a seven day set and they are desirable collectibles. OTOH, that is a lot of work. I like to find them with less corrosion. I don't have the patience for hours of hand sanding so I tend to work on edges and leave any staining beyond what Flitz of Semichrome will take out.
