Default Hones Cheap

Just received my flier from the wood store, the one with WOOD in the name. Saw they have Norton 4K/8K combo stones on sale for $72. Don't know if this is appropriate to post here, but thought I would try to be CRAFTy and get it through. Sometimes the sales aren't just through the shave shops.

A lot of us use Woodcraft.com and I do not think that they are blocked here.

They also frequently have great DMT sales. They also sell Handamerican strop leather for those that want to make their own paddle strops.

If you join their club. You get a 10% discount during your birth month.

Default Sale on Slipstones

I'm a super newb, but after seeing recommendations for both woodcraft.com and slipstones, I couldn't resist advertising this closeout deal I found:

woodcraft.com has 4000 grit slipstones for $7 and 8000 grit for $13, and free shipping until 9/29. These are the angled kind (4" x 2" x 3/8" x 1/8"), so glue them together for a 4k/8k combo for $20 shipped!

Hey Horizon, I saw that too. Do you know anybody who has used those slipstones? Manufacturers seem to play a lot of specsmanship games with abrasives. For instance, Woodcraft's 0.5um Cr02 compound actually has a max. particle size of 6um. Of course for $20 it's probably worth a gamble, but if anyone here has used them, can you please pipe up & tell us how you like them?

Also, you can use coupon code at woodcraft. Just google for woodcraft coupon codes and you'll find some. Last month, I used the code 082008. I bet this month you could use 092008. If that doesn't work try just 82008 or 92009. I think its 15 dollars off of 50 or more.
