Sorry to hgear that. Maybe you can hit some local antique shops or "this and that" shops and pick up a DE to get you started. I've picked up some for my son (he's 14) for under $5. Who knows, you may find a good straight that a local barber may be able to home up for you and use news paper for a strop (or a leather belt, the under side of your forarm and such). You really don't need a set to get started when you are on a budget. REad up in the newbe section and the Wiki to see what others have been doing. PLan for the future when your budget allows and make due until then. There is no shame in that. Your success really depends on how much drive you have and how creative you can be. Good luck!!

Great advice - you can really start (and manage thereafter) fairly inexpensively

Cheers

You don't need a $200 kit. There are cheaper options, but if your parents are paying for it you may be limited somewhat.

excellent! there are many great deals there. you may want to start with a brush and soap - that should cost you less than $8 at your local store and should be an improvement to the canned foam.
