The shelves are great. I think I have just enough tongue and groove cedar on my back porch to build something like that. I have been wondering what to do with it; thanks for the idea!

ok, here's a pic of my "shave den"

pretty self explanatory for the most part. my big redneck strops are on the other side, hooked to a towel holder, that little strop is for stropping between passes. all the little ziploc containers are soap. i remelt all my soap into them, for the most part. not a big fan of the mug, since I use that big redneck scuttle up top. hipflask is my homebrew bayrum. (the DFW guys will remember why it's been written on) razor holders are actually toothbrush stands from target.

eta: before anyone asks, the pliers are for doing my earrings

Just to have a photo of it in this thread, here is my shave den with the current rotation of razors:

Well, after having searched just about every Wal-Mart in the city, I finally went to Anchor Hocking's website to see who else carried their products. For those of us in Canada, the soap (umm...sugar?) bowls are carried by Canadian Tire at $3.99 apiece.

Just want to thank Glen for not only starting this thread, but for walking me through melting the soaps and grating the milled soaps.

Without further ado, here's my very humble shave den (the upshot of all the soap bowls in that now my wife is insisting that I build a shave cabinet for the bathroom!

I'm really starting to regret that I've decided to get into straights. Knowing myself I will need some serious counseling very very soon because this is going to form into something that's going to drive me to bankruptcy...

At least I'll have a nice BBS shave though when I go to court....

Hmmm.... I see I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but it is too late now. I've seen the future of my bathroom, and it looks very cool. Thanks for the ideas men. Time to make it happen!

Default New display for me.

I just got this old spoon rack at the Rescue Mission's Thrifty Shopper store for $1. After a little modification, here is how it turned out:

I got the seashell bowl very cheap. It burns my hand if I get it too hot, though. That's why I like the other glass bowl. It is textured on the inside and works just as well, if not better.

The only thing that worries me is the height at which they're attached and their location near the doorway. I think I need to put the handle on the other side.
