Default When You Need Colored Epoxy

I have said I like using the Devcon series of epoxies. I have found they can be tinted to any color you need by using Mixol:
These tints are very concentrated so it doesn't take much to change a batch of epoxy from clear to opaque black:

This bowl is only one eigth of an inch thick but it is very strong because of the cross grain maple design and the Devcon Two Ton epoxy I blackened with a half of that little bottle of Mixol.

The Mixol is available in all colors but I have only needed black. I would think you could use it as a very effective engraving filler as well as a colored adhesive.

Here's a tip for use of any epoxy, whether you modify it or not: Always save a "witness sample". That is, when you mix a batch of epoxy, put the unused portion aside to verify the stuff you used is fully cured. If the sample you saved doesn't cure, you can bet the stuff you used hasn't cured either.

Oh, one moore tip. Don't use Mixol to color cyano acrylates unless your goal is tp have a big colored glob of hard CA on the end of a stick. The Mixol forces the CA to cure instantaneously.
