Default Moss Scuttle???

I am interested in buying a Moss Scuttle, I have heard a lot of good about them.
I use a Vulfix 2234 Badger brush. Which size Moss would work best with it (and Colleen's Shaving Soap?) I figure the large would suit my purpose a little better, but I don't know.
Guys, I need information.
Thanks.

I have the small Moss scuttle -- it's ideal for parking your brush in once you've made the lather, but it's too small to put soap in. If you've got a good quality shaving cream then you can just about whip up a lather in it, but soap's not a go-er.

I hear that the large scuttle (and it IS large!) is good for building lather.

Personally, I'd advise going for the small and building lather from soaps in a wooden bowl (Colleen's site sells the ideal thing) or use cream.

I had a large Moss Scuttle but did not find it suitable for "creating my lather." I think (and I could be wrong) that the purpose of the scuttle is to keep the brush/lather warm. I think this works ideally for face lathering, i.e., you load your brush from the soap bowl and create your lather on your face, then place the brush in the scuttle to keep it and the lather on it heated until your next pass. I use the same technique to create face lather with creams. I put a small amount of lather in my bowl, take my brush and shake out most of the water, then apply my brush to the cream. The brush takes in the cream but does not create a lather due to lack of water. I then take the brush to my wet face and create my lather. The brush is then stored in the scuttle to keep it and the lather warm until the next pass.

Unless you have a very large brush (knot size), the small scuttle is the best choice. You want the brush to fit snuggly in the area so that it and the lather stay warm.

If you're looking for a Moss scuttle, THIS is a link to a fellow shaver that is selling one at a fairly good price right now.
