Default new to straight shaving, brush question

Hello, I'm new to straight shaving, to be honest I haven't even received my first razor yet but Alex has mailed it so I excited. Back to my question though, about 6 years ago my wife bought me this http://www.theartofshaving.com/taos6/product.php?product=54002&group=7 brush, I don't really know much about it, i.e. knot size, is this even considered a decent brush by you fellows, maybe someone could shed some light on it for me. I have been using it nearly daily for most of those six years except when I was deployed to Iraq, and I do enjoy it, but I haven't really ever used a different one to compare it to. Thanks in advance.

David

Art of shaving should be good, although they tend to run on the expensive side. Clearly it is serving you well and that's what's most important. As far as comparing to another brush this is mostly a matter of personal preference and the only way to find out is give it a try if you are curious and have the $.

David,

The others have given sound advice: fixing the unbroken may be useless and will be expensive. I have a weakness, actually I have several and they are various acquisition disorders. Among them is BAD or the gotta have it now brush buying disease. While the various brushes I've purchased feel slightly different to my face, they all make lather just fine. So if you think you want another brush, you may not actually NEED another brush. (Brush sellers, please forgive me for what I have said)

But your curiosity may compel you to try another brand or style of badger follicle sprouts. If so, drive on lather maker, drive on!
