Thumbs up Art of Shaving Sandalwood Shaving Soap

Ok Ok Ok - so I've been one to bash AOS from time to time. Most of that has had to do with their sales staff at the Madison Ave store.

For some reason I've really had a hankering for a new sandalwood soap. I have or have had several sandalwood soaps, but they've all been glycerin soaps. In keeping with my triple milled soap kick - I noticed that they opened a new AOS store in the mall nearby so I grabbed a refill and shelled out a painful $26.50 for it.

Now, I've been using the AOS Lemon soap and it performs great, but the scent is nothing to write home about. Not so with the sandalwood! This soap has a clear crisp/dry EO sandalwood scent going. Its great! Besides the smell, the performance is outstanding. This one is a keeper.

Many AOS products don't appeal to me but I also find their sandalwood soap is a top quality product.

Presently I have two soaps on the go. AOS Sandalwood and Floris JF. Both soaps in my opinion are of the highest quality. They provide good protection and lubrication and don't leave your skin feeling dried out.
They command a higher price in my opinion because for me at least, they are an all in one product and unlike some of their lesser quality competition, I find I don't need other pre and post shave products to get a comfortable shave.

Default Yes sir!

+1 on the smell of AOS Sandlewood. Call it a guilty pleasure, but it is well worth it! I use the cream, ASB, and pre-shave oil all in sandlewood. It is a great, rich, warm smell and the products I list here are all well worth checking out. It is expensive, but the cream lathers well and lubricates even better. The ASB is very emollient and moisturizing. The pre-shave is simply castor and olive oils with fragrance and I have been considering making my own but you can't beat that sandlewood scent!

I got both the sandalwood soap and unscented preshave oil at half off when a store was closing out their AOS stock. I never would have tried them otherwise due to the steep price. The soap has a wonderful scent, shaves great, and I think it will last a very long time. I haven't noticed a huge difference when using the preshave oil but I've only tried it a handful of times so I'll reserve judgment.
