I picked up a bowl of GFT's Lime Shave Soap on a visit to their shop in London last week. I will say before I start that I am still a relative newbie. I have tried some organic clove & neroli soap, Mama Bear's unscented & C&E Sandalwood. Up until earlier, the C&E was my favourite.

I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of my shave with this soap. When I opened the box, the lime scent wafted out, clean & fresh. Nice bowl too. The puck itself had ever such a slight lip around its edge. It kept the water dripped onto it on it, rather than disappearing down the side of the bowl. When I loaded the brush, it took a little more work than I am used to in achieving the "sticky squelch". Took it to the mug & it was instantly obvious that it was a far richer, creamier & easier lather than I am used to. Built lather & applied. It was like smearing warm whipped lime cream. It gave dense long lasting lather even on second & third passes without reloading. It gave me the smoothest shave I have ever had. It has to be a 10/10. Now I have GFTAD

I've used the trumpers lime soap and have had great results with it. Its quality stuff.

Trumper soap is among my favorites. Its right up there with any of the high end hard soaps IMHO. I really like the rose too.

I have GFT Lime soap and love it too. For me, it seems a little less protective than a lot of the tallow soaps, but is protective enough, and yields a very slick smooth shave. And that scent is just really really nice.
