Default Honeybee Spa Soaps

I have tried multiple soaps and creams and find these as good as it gets. They are reasonably priced, lather easily and generously, smell great, raise the beard and leave the face slick throughout your shave. They will make a marginally sharp blade work flawlessly. Here are my thoughts on the scents I have. They have basically the same base recipe. She uses bentonite clay as a slickening agent. The moisturizing from her recipe is without compare. There are multiple reviews on these soaps at Badgerandblade.com.with all of them giving fantastic reviews. Definitely a must have for those method shavers.
Sue(soapmaker) sells through ebay. She is reachable and makes a fantastic product. I recommend getting them in containers for $1.00/puck. These soaps have earned straight 10's from many reviewers.

Bay Rum - an unusual bay rum
YUZU- light citrusy
Mayan Gold- terrific
Vanilla Oak a bit sweet
Old Spice - reminds you of your father
Issay Miyake Very subtle and masculine
Sandlewood - wow
Green Tea- soft pleasant smell-
Old Spice- excellant

Default HoneyBee Spa !!!!

I gotta give the other Sue's soaps a too!!!!
Great lather, nice and slick, good cushion....
I ordered her 3 pack sometime back, and I'm just about ready to re-order some more...
My choice at that time were the sandalwood scents, (she has several variations) and I was not disappointed at all...

Rating wise....

Price = 8.5
Scent = 8
Lather = 8.5
Slickness = 8.5
Cushion = 8
Comfort = 8.5

Highly recommended !!!

Glen, since you have also reviewed Mike Ratliff's soap, how do HBS soaps compare to Mike's soap in terms of performance?

Thanks,
Sachin

Hi All,
It's a well known fact that the DE users have a lot more time to screw around whipping up lather. That extra time comes from not having to continually hone/strop those straights...........heh. BTW, I wonder what's up with that diamond/platinum honing pyramid one member's making.
Anyway, HBS was my first soap ever used, and it was an excellent choice. Up til then, it had been only creams for three months, but I'd heard so many good things about her products I figured I'd give soaps a try. Sometimes I do something right.....
To me, it's one of the best bangs for the buck out there. Sue's soaps are a well performing, easy to lather, almost foolproof to use product. There's a scent for everyone, and my favorite is the sandalwood/vanilla............whew. Pricewise, her different sampler packs are tough to beat. Nice woman to deal with also.
This would be an especially good soap for a person new to using soaps and a brush to try. It will give you a positive reference point for other soapmakers you'll be soon be trying........
Martin

Oh, I think I'd heard mention of Sue having her own website soon, if not already. She's also got another line of EO based products as well I believe.

I have tried two of her soaps also, yuzu and vanilla sandalwood. I found that the scents were very sweet smelling, and the FO used in the yuzu soap smelled nothing like yuzu. That said, the performance of HBS soaps, are almost comparable to Colleen's.

If I didn't have so many soaps on the go ATM, I wouldn't mind trying a few other soaps from HBS.
