Default LOVE this new G5 Scuttle!!!

Well, last Tuesday it was COLD and I stayed home to work in taxes and invoices for my business. While I was at the computer, I decided to look at scuttles...... After looking at 5-6 possiblities, I decided to order the Georgetown Pottery G5.
Georgetown Pottery: Shaving Scuttle Mug (G5)

(Please would someone tell me how to change that link to a hypertext word>>>>> it would look a lot better)

Anyways, I was told they were sold out and it would be three weeks.... Fine..... I can wait. to my surprise, I got the shipping notice earlier this week and it arrived today! Barely a week later..... Talk about customer service.

Had to try it out, so I warmed it in the sink and corked it up with hot water. I loaded my brush with the usual amount of soap and put some glycerin and a dab of cream in the scuttle. This usually yields a brush loaded with lather for several passes and I usually rinse most of it down the drain when done. Well I started to whip it around and about a minute later, I noticed it was starting to build.....WOW. I have never had it build in my mug. Well here is the result.... Better cut back on my soap usage. I am totally thrilled..... Can't wait to shave in the morning.....

I agree the G5 is incomparable to a mug. I got one for christmas and since then I have determined it does a good job of being wide enough to make a nice lather, while having a tight design that keeps the lather warm(depending on the speed of your shave).

At any rate I think the scuttle is ingenious in its engineering. The bottom is left as raw clay, so it doesn't slide on finished surfaces or in your hand. The thumb hole is certainly a proper thumb loop that lets you comfortably palm the object. And the inner scoring with the lip aid in making an awesome lather consistently.

Great performance, great aesthetics, great price, great scuttle.

I still haven't decided with pattern as I fancy the: hamada and blue, hamada purple, blue oribe and purple, cobalt purple and hamada. Tough choice

Wouldn't be surprised if someone here bought all the patterns :P

I got the same G5 for Christmas from my lady.

She also had them put my initials on the bottom.
