Joe Chandler Joseph Rodgers 7/8 Meat Chopper
Here is a Joseph Rodgers and Sons Cutlers to Their Majesties 7/8 Meat Chopper that was reground, rescaled, and honed by Joe Chandler; I have only shaved with this blade two times and then kept it as a display item. The blade was reground with an 8 inch diameter wheel (about a ¼ hollow grind) and mirror finished. The scales are oil finished rosewood burl with an amazing grain and the spacer is mammoth tooth. This one is among that absolute best coming out of Sheffield (or anywhere for that matter). Unfortunately, the CPA exam review courses turned out to be $1,200 more than I expected/budgeted for so I have to give up some of my favorites. I am asking SOLD. I really wish that I could afford to sell this razor for a lot less, but then if I could then it would not be for sale. The mark in the second picture from the oil, not a mark on the blade; the razor is close to imaculate.
David

Wow, David, this is some piece!!! Sorry to hear that you have to part with it, but on the plus side, once you start making the big bucks you can get another one or ten
Good luck with the exam!

Hopefully I will be able to find more nice razors, but I doubt that I will be able to get another like this.

In the battle between heavy wallets and heavy razors, the razor always wins. Leather simply cannot defeat steel.

Mr. Chandler has arrived
The Joe Chandler arrived in the mail today. If it shaves half as good as it looks then I am very pleased. It looks great.
Thank you very much,
Zack

Congrats Zack.
I have two razors that have been touched by Joe's hand (one regrind and one custom) and they are both great shavers. I am certain that this one lives up to the high recommendations it comes with.
And yeah these 7/8 Rodgers wedges are not all that common at all. Plus Joe's days regrinding other manufacturer's razors seem to be well in the past - I think you did quite well. Enjoy
