This strop looks like it has a common problem for old strops. That is, it was folded in half and it might be quite difficult to get it completely straight. That is not to say that it cannot be straightened, but it will take some effort.

Thanks for that info.All this time Ive been stropping my razors on this strop and I didnt have a clue this was affecting my sharp edges.All those close shaves were just a figment of my imagination
