Classifieds Are Now Live!
Constant Purchaser Of Shaving Material,
The Classifieds are now ready for your use. I think you'll like them. They offer what I think are several improvements over the current system. But mostly the Services area of them. This way all of those wonderful members of the forum that provide honing, restoration, and custom work will have a place to make themselves known and easily available.
Those of you whom list items that you want, can do that as well in the Classifieds. Pretty cool, huh?
So please begin to use the Classifieds, instead of this forum. Sometime in the next few days we'll most likely make this forum directly redirect to the Classifieds. But we don't want any items being sold to get lost in a black hole.
As always, please email me (dave @ straightrazorplace dot com) with any questions or thoughts. What I do here, I do for you. So let me know what want (Or if you just like it).
To celebrate them finally going live, oldblades is making 12 Limited Edition SRP Razor Boxes. They are listed in the misc area.

Ok here is my first issue:
Misc - Straight Razor Place Classifieds
Violent yellow background with white thread title.
I might as well poke out my eyes with a screwdriver for the effect it has

Already fixed.
Those items just need to be reloaded, and I'm sending messages to the people that added them (Including myself). That scary color combo won't happen again.

My first impressions: fabulous. It looks like a serious improvement over BST.

Now this is nice! The layout has all the pertinent info listed clearly and the style is very clean. It's not cluttered with a lot of unnecessary stuff. Great job!
I noticed that the second group of photos, under the User Options line, has one photo from the original post and one photo from the next or previous post. Without a dedicated next or previous button, I didn't know what the extra photo meant. But in time, we'll just get used to it. It's not a big deal.

Great job! I love them so far and have already sold one item there! I also hear that you fixed the picture size thing- awesome! Thanks for the hard work!

Great job!!! This is a really useful addition!
It might be even better if you added a few columns on the razor page (and other pages). Like "will ship to" (Conus only/world/etc) and "shave ready" (yes/no/close). It will be a useful addition for us newbies who lives outside the US, and easier to find what you are looking for without having to read every classified!

Excellent points! I've added a drop down for shave ready under straight razors, and will look at something for shipping.

Looks good but the pictures are a bit small. I like to see some detail when I am buying something. Is there anyway to have the supersize a) be higher resolution b)be a link to a higher resolution pic?

Looks excellent, great work Dave.
I do agree about the pics, if they could link or open up bigger it would be more helpful and the photos at the bottom for the next or prev item is great but does need a label.
Again great work
Thank you
Bob

This looks excellent. I like it!
If I just may add a suggestion: is it possible to add a category where the seller can say if he is shipping CONUS only, International, Europe... etc... that would make it easier for the potential buyer to know if he will be able to buy an item

The pictures have been adjusted to 700px wide for supersize. Those that were loaded up before I made the change, are the smaller ones.
I'll work on the next/prev labels. And something will be added for shipping today!

Looks great, clean, nice logical layout... I will make use of it.
However from what I understand, the more "seller centric" classifieds will eventually replace B/S/T... or B/S/T will be redirected to the classifieds.
In the future, will there be a B/S/T like forum where "money is not most important"?
Or am I missing something.
