I haven't digested all of this yet, but at a glance, she does bring a refreshing energy and vigor that will be appealing to many. The fact that she's not from Washington and has a "small town" appeal will play to Obama's weakness in working-class areas. Her poise was also impressive, given the circumstances.

EDIT: Oh yeah, she seems to have the ability to deliver an effective shot - with a smile. This can be tricky for female leaders and she did it very well, at least tonight.

I like how he hugs and kisses her every time he meets her, it has to be more fun then hugging and kissing Romney or Lieberman.

Actually she controls Alaska, the oil companies with the drilling rights control the oil in Alaska.

Honestly, I think that it was a total strategic move. It makes people wonder why he chose her which gives him more publicity and people looking into his campaign. They dig deep and find her strict conservative nature as opposed to his more liberal republican stance which many will find attractive. She will appeal to women which helps his campaign. It will also appeal to liberal republicans because hey, she's a woman. Maybe he wants the whole "inexperience" thing as part of his strategy- a clean slate so to speak. I don't know. These are just my few observations. I won't throw my opinion out there though.
