Anyone else on the coast of SC or NC? As a surfer, these are times that make living on the coast worthwhile. Usually these storms bring large swells which make for some unforgettable surf. On the other hand, Hanna has come at a bad time. The wife and I have bought a new house and have been waiting weeks for the big moving day. Unfortunately that day happens to be this Saturday, which is when the storm is projected to hit our area. It looks now as though we may get the brunt of the storm but these things can change so quickly. The Brunswick County, NC beaches may get hit hard as well but I think Wrightsville Beach, our local spot may get the worst of it. Ike is looking pretty darn scary as well. I won't mind a little brush of the coast to jack up the surf but not a direct hit from a Cat. 4 storm. I guess we shall see. Times like this I am reminded by the old ships mate in the movie Master and Commander and his tattooed fingers that together spell, "H-O-L-D-F-A-S-T."
