Shine on...
Today, the 15th of September of 2008, Richard Wright, Pink Floyd's keyboard player passed away, victim of cancer.
So... since I'm sure I'm not the only Pink Floyd Fan out there...
Shine on, Rick!

I dont know how many 8 track tapes of "Dark side of the Moon" I wore out when I was younger, falling asleep with the headphones on. Reminds me of another album, "Who's Next"

Rick's death was a bit of a shock to me... I'm an inconditional fan so I was getting very worked up because of the rumour that was rising some time ago. They said (and Nick Mason confirmed this) that all was ready to start again: Rick was in, he was too and even Waters was up for it... all was in Dave's hands. Waters called the experience of being together at the Live8 something like "putting on an old shoe"... But now it's impossible. And it seems that Pink Floyd's Great Gig will be, indeed, in the sky...

A day of sadness. I will listen to Ummagumma tonight as tribute.

Such a loss...

I don't have a copy of Animals, but did forget Meddle and Momentary Lapse of Reason.

He will be greatly missed, especially in the wake of the news of a reunion.
It is always a sad day when a legend passes on. He may be gone but will never be forgotten. I'm listening to Shine On as I type and I can hardly see the keyboard or screen from the tears that have snuck up on me.

Pink Floyd, I'm no fan of the early (sid barrett) stuff, but all the rest is pure genius IMO.
Such a shame.

I tend to be emotional, sometimes, too... which is not good for a grown man who uses a straight razor... but I listen to my Pink Floyd records a lot and yesterday I got a little more emotional than usual while listening to Echoes... and now, my dear Silver, I'm listening to Shine on you crazy diamond...
The idea of the Pink Floyd reunion was getting me very worked up... and now there are no chances of that. Maybe a tribute or something... but the reunion is gone. Damn it... I'm 24 and that WAS the one Rock Concert I'd go to... even if it meant flying to any part of europe. Shine On!...
