Default Cream of Wheat

Well, I saw the oatmeal thread....

Does anyone aboard enjoy a bowl of cream of wheat in the morning? I like it better than oatmeal (and much better than grits). I just sprinkle sugar on top after I cook it up.

One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

Pablum I say!

Ok, ok, I admit it! I like cream of wheat especially the stuff that has to be cooked for a while, but I eat it every other morning because I got three kids who are 6 and under!
If I never see cream of wheat again I wont complain!!

Cream O Wheat is ok, what I really miss is Fishers Mills "Farina" which I doubt many people remember..

Who liks Cream O Wheat, but refuses to place it higher on the list than oatmeal.

Cream of wheat isn't even in the same league as a good bowl of grits.

Each has their own place.

Cream of wheat is great by itself, as a cereal, with a little pure maple syrup drizzled in.

Grits (with cheese on top) is a great dish to go with eggs and bacon/sausage.

Oatmeal is along the lines of cream of wheat, a cereal to be eaten by itself, but with fruit and brown sugar stirred in.

Never could stand cream of wheat.
Grits is good.
Regular (not instant) oatmeal is better than both.
I often make regular oatmeal for breakfast at deer camp during winter (such as we have down here). I always remember my mother's advise: "Don't burn the milk" while making oatmeal.

I enjoyed Cream of Wheat every morning before school when I was growing up, along with a little milk, and as much sugar I could put in the bowl before my Mom caught me. Haven't had any for nearly 35 years, but have thought about it from time to time.

Oatmeal is grand, and steel cut oats are a reward when you have time to prepare them. Grits rule!

PS: Milk and sugar are not allowed in Grits, only salt, pepper, butter, and sometimes, cheese.
