Who Doesn't Love Origami?
I don't know which I love more, knot tying or origami. Lately though my fascination with the art of paper folding has reached a feverish pitch. I am obsessing. I can't stop folding paper into wonderful and challenging creations.
Anyone else?

I like making paper frogs that will really jump quite far and wide. When you push their back sides with your finger against the table top they will slip from underneath the finger and actually jump a few inches into the air. Great fun to make with children and trying to get them to jump into a shallow dish.
As it is very complicated to make I always keep one in my drawer just in case.

I used to be pretty into the stuff, but had to use a book for the more complicated things around. Good way to spend time, but if you get too involved in it (just like honing a razor when others are around) people look at one a bit funny. Of course prior to high school if you know how everyone wants you to make them a flapping bird, a frog, a flower, or a ninja star. Nothing really that challenging, but even now every so often its fun to make something if there are kids around and let them mess with it. It's been years since I was into it though.

Origami is great.
I'm into modular mainly and a little into functional pieces - boxes etc.
My favorite thing to make is the 5 intersecting tetrahedra - First time took about 4 hours but I have made it about 6 times now so it is just 90 minutes work.
For me it is like therapy! I like a challenge.

I just wish that I had a video to work from when I first made it! I only had some text instructions, which made the construction rather difficult!
It is well worth making - You get big points for using one as a star for the christmas tree!

I just did a lab with my seventh graders that had them making paper airplanes...
