Default Thunderstorms

I know it may sound weird, but I absolutely love thunderstorms. Thunder and lightning are two amazing feats of nature. Both extremely powerful and deserving respect. I enjoy sitting in the middle of the night, on out screened in porch, smoking a cigar, drinking scotch or white russians and just watching the storm. The electricity in the air is one of my favorite feelings. Almost the same electrical feeling before a massive storm hits and you know the sky is about to let loose.

An idea for you fellow storm lovers is that a storm makes a great backdrop for a "fine" night with the significant other. This is where the porch really comes in handy.

I was just pondering who else here likes to watch/listen to thunderstorms.

Yes! I love thunderstorms. I spent this summer in Silicon Valley, and possibly the biggest thing I missed (besides the obvious friends/family and such) was thunderstorms. I think it rained once the entire time I was there, and I almost didn't notice it (very disappointing). The vibration from fireworks on the 4th of July truly made me homesick for Michigan weather.

You, my friend, have brought up one of my favorite things in life! I LOVE sitting on my Grandads back porch to watch the lightning. His field backs up to woods on 2 sides and everytime there's a "bad" storm there's sure to be a great show :-)

Yep. thunder, lightning, and medium-to-heavy rain....

Love thunder lightening and torrential down pours. Typhoons always seem to pass us by, but on occasion we get a good down pour and some excellent rumbling in the skies.

even though I hate bad weather, I love the feeling of the elements showing you who's boss.
I'm the kind of guy that would drive to the ocean just to watch the storm.
Thunderstorms scare my girlfriend, but I love them, and it makes a great moment for snuggling up indeed!

We don't get much thunder and lightning where I live now, but I've enjoyed many a good storm in my time. The wind I don't enjoy too much, but the rain can just keep on coming. I love the smell in the air too. And storm sex is great, there's no two ways about that.

Default few & far between

Thunderstorms are few and far between here in Arizona. We have five or six in a year but when they come, it is a fireworks display worth watching. I live in a valley surrounded by mountains giving me a panoramic view of multiple strikes. I feel sorry for my two dogs though, they go into a state of panic at the sound of the thunder. anybody else have dogs that get spooked easy?

My first family dog was terrified of thunder. We were in the car once with him and he got so scared he tried getting under the front seat. He ended up wedging himself underthere to where he couldnt get out, and got even MORE freaked out. He ****ed all over the car, and it took butter to grease him up enough to get him out. That was a long, long night.

My current dog, thinks she can take on thunder. She stands up proudly and barks as loud as she can saying, "your not the only one that can make noise you know!!!!!!!!!"

our dogs are also scared of thunder, they go and hide in the basement untill it passes.
Same goes for hot air balloons flying over.

i LOVE thunderstorms, we used to sit on the beech and watch them come in over the lake when i lived in ohio. one of my favorite times for thunderstorms is on winter nights during a snow storm the lightning reflects off the snow and lights the entire sky, it is just amazing

I have a view of three NY?C bridges from my bedroom window. When the storms are really bad I can actually see the lightening striking buildings and bridges. It is simply amazing. One night it was really foggy and I saw the lightening strike, and Brooklyn went completely dark for a few minutes. I also love the pitter patter on a tin roof, on the ac, and on the car (as long as I am not driving). There is something about the ferocity of the storms that reminds me of the creator.
