Oh man why do ya have to do that....
I mean it's obvious from this forum that I love razors and stuff, but it is a pale second to the GUN NUT !!!!! part of me....
Those Kimbers are sweet, really nice shooters
Not that the 92FS is a sluff by any means either, that one there looks to be an Italian made one too????
Very nice Don, thanks so much for starting the Kimber itch again....

Very nice Kimber! I'm still saving money to buy my Ultra Carry II with night sights and Crimson lasergrip.

I have to admit they look nice. That's as far as my knowledge goes. They might as well be the zeepk of guns for all I know
But considering that you are not someone who buys anything but the best, it's highly unlikely
EDIT: Btw talking about the best: come november it will be cold enough again to ship chocolate.

There is a difference in the safety (and some would say quality) between series 1 and 2 (really no series 1, but Kimber came out with series 2 so the older pistols default to series 1).
Police swat and military special ops specify the series 1 safety in the procurment contract as I understand it. Not that there have been lots of malfunctions, the series 2 just adds another layer and for actual combat the traditional safeties of the 1911 are adequate.
Also the opinion persists that tolerances tend to be tighter with the older models. Overall the concensus among 1911 shooters is that the series 1 pistols are better and are the pistols from which the Kimber reputation grew. The series 1 pistols are difficult to find, will always be used, and tend to cost more.
Mine is a Gold Combat stainless series 1 I purchased used at my club's annual swap meet. I sold three rifles to raise the cash.

+1 on the series one being tighter. That being said it's like the difference between a goldedge and a wonderedge. lol. Dad has a classic custom series 1 and I have a series one pro carry. I have shot series 2 kimbers and they are not bad guns at all but not as tight as my gun feels. Most notable to me is that my trigger breaks like a glass rod and did so out of the box new. All in all, Kimber 45s are wickedly accurate.
