Barbeque/holes in the wall
I know that most of us here are men and i know that most mean love meat. There are some vegetarians here and i don't discriminate, to each his own. but i love meat. Especially after it's been in a smoker for hours. but the point of this thread is not really for your own barbeque but of little barbeque places...little hole in the wall places with AMAZING barbeque
Mine is Harold's barbeque in Abilene TX. If you're ever in abilene it's go down Pine Street till you reach Nth 13th street and head east on 13th, at the corner of 13th and the next street will be a TINY place with a gravel parking lot...that's harolds.
Anyway it's this barbeque place that's open ONLY during lunch tuesday-saturday. It's run by a black family that are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Anyway their sauce is AMAZING, their brisket is always tender and their ribs ALWAYS fall off the bone...it really is heavenly! and don't even get me started on their cobler...
anyway...share with everyone your favorite barbeque or hole in the wall place that you can't get enough of!

If pigs and cows weren't put here for us to eat, they should not have been made of pure pork and beef.

If the Gods had meant for us to eat vegetables, they would have tasted better.
If carrots had tasted like bacon, my eyesight would have been 20/20.
Although I have to admit I eat industrial quantities of tomato sauce.

I can't actually call them 'Holes in the Wall' they are first class restaurants. However, a lot of folks vacation at both places, so I want them to know what's available.
Josiah Chowning's Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia serves possibly the very best pulled pork barbecue I ever tasted.
The Stable Restaurant in The Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina is in a tie with Chowning's, when it comes to a pulled pork barbecue!
If you are ever in either place, you HAVE to have one of their BBQs.

Dixie's BBQ in Bellevue, WA makes a mean pulled pork san. The sides are really decent, too. Place is always crowded at lunchtime. Ask Gene to "Meet The Man." It's a nuclear-strength hot sauce that's got to have some capsaicin extracts in it. That stuff is mean hot, and delicious. I groove on the 520 Special: pulled pork plus a hot link. Mmm, great stuff.

My favorite has to be Leo's at NE 36th & Kelly in OKC. There's one near Bricktown, but I like the original better. I usually do the Leo's Special, which is chopped brisket, ribs, hot links, bologna, 2 sides, texas toast and the famous strawberry banana cake to finish it off. The mild sauce is sweet and thin, not watery but thin. The hot sauce is not so hot to me (but I'm a chili head) and thicker. Mix the two, you get the right consistency, sweet to start & hot at the finish.

Atlanta GA weighing in!
There is a Harold's in Atlanta too! Totally different place obviously but really good!
In Alpharetta, just up GA 400 is the Swallow in the Hollow. Fried Biscuits. There are about three other places, but we are bound by state law to keep them secret.

One day, I'm going to fly to the US and do a BBQ road trip
I'm bloody starving after reading about these BBQ stalls.

I ate at Opie's in Spicewood, Texas quite a few times. I tried Cooper's in Llano, Texas as well. Opie's 'Q was superior, IMHO. Some of the things usually indicative of the presence of good 'Q are (in no particular order): the building should appear to be in dire need of paint; a roll of paper towels on each table; a significant woodpile close by; 'Q should be served on butcher's paper or paper plates (unless take out); you should be able to smell wood smoke inside; the proprietor is an older black man. The absence of any of these does not preclude good 'Q, but the presence of all of them virtually guarantees it. FWIW, I travel all over the US in my job as field engineer.
