Default Skydiving?

Are there any skydivers 'round here? I just went for the first time last weekend, and it was awesome! Definitely one of the finer things in life. I've experienced my fair share of breath-taking awe at the world (mostly from the tops of mountains and such), but this was the singly most intense minute of awe I've ever seen. The curve of the horizon and the view of the world from 13,000 feet (rushing at you at 120 mph)... I wanted it to last way longer.

I did the Accelerated Freefall option, which is a step in the direction of getting licensed. I'm pretty sure I'll invest the time and money to get licensed in the next year or so, which involves 25 jumps. I am excited.

I've done a dozen or so static line jumps at 3,000 to 4,000 feet, with the nice rectangular steerable canopies. It is a very unique experience. The views are amazing, the feeling of flying is like nothing I've experienced.

I've never been skydiving but I was a hang-glider pilot for several years. Awesome stuff!!!!

Time is so short for me and i wanted the full thrill so the 2 times i went it was Tandom jumps at 13,500 ...

LOTS of fun and something everyone should do once. I will say I am afraid of heights but when your that high up you loose depth perception and it just looks like a grid on the ground and not 2 miles up in the sky. Oh yea and its damn cold up there ! Also, as I did I would recommend getting the video of your first jump just to watch every now and again.

That's Amazing.

I wish I could afford to learn it. We have a dropzone just 10 miles away from here, but I'm still a college student with not that much money

I got into that skydiving stuff while I was in the Air Force/Army here in Germany. I was stationed in an Airborne School, but unfortunately I wasn't allowed to learn it.
However, after a few months there would have been a chance. But my service time was near the end, and so there was not enought time left.
Luckily, my Master Sergeant was pretty cool and so he spent my a tandem jump from a CH-53 helicopter.
Man, that was an adrenaline rush. I can't forget it.
