cigar case

I am looking for a small pocket type case that would hold 2 to 3 cigars safety in your pocket. any suggesting are appreciated and if anyone has something like this you no longer use and would like to part with drop me a pm. I quit smoking 7 yrs ago and am getting in to cigars and just learning as I go along. Also I have a cheap cutter that they gave me at the cigar store will this get me by for a while?

As little as I know about cigars, I will say that a cutter is good enough if it cuts your cigar as clean as you would like it to. Some people prefer a punch to cutters on certain types of cigars. I've heard of people just biting them, too. I guess it depends on how much pull you want from it.

For a cutter, you can't beat a Xikar. I have a cutter and a lighter from them, and you will really be able to tell a difference from the cheap plastic cutter you probably have. Plus, they have a lifetime warranty if it ever gets damaged or dull. All in all, it really doesn't matter what kind as long as you can cleanly cut the cigar without ripping the cap off the end...i've even used a sharp pocket knife in a pinch. They also have some great cases.

Cigars are just like straights, you'll just have to figure out what cigar and accessories suit you best

I've been stuck with a cheap cutter as well. Nothing wrong with it, unless you can't get clean cuts. Over on CigarsInternational, they are selling V cutters (also called Cats Eye Cutters sometimes) in sets of two for $10. I was putting in an order yesterday, so I tacked a set on. They'll be arriving today, so I'll let you know how they work.

As far as cases, that's a matter of what size and style you like. Perhaps have a look through a local antique shop? Would an eye-glasses case work? I haven't really given cases much thought; if I'm out and about I take my pipe instead of cigars.

Cutter came today. Just to clarify, it's this one V-Cut Guillotine Cutter - 2-Pak - Cigars International

The body is plastic, but it's got a decently solid feel. Cuts quite well. Since I have an extra, if anyone wants one for a couple bucks, drop me a PM. I can post pics if there is any interest.

Save the extra cutter. They go dull with use (I suppose I don't really have to tell you that if you're a member of this site) and there is no way of sharpening them, so they get tossed. That's why the Xikars are a bargain; free sharpening forever brings down the long term cost.

Any man who can use a straight razor is man enough to just bite it. The more crap you have to carry around takes away all the fun. In all the thousands of cigars I have injested over the years I think I've cut less than a dozen. DS

Cigar Cases : Hold up to three cigars

i have the single case in black. You would probably want the case that holds 3. Yes 50 bucks is pricey but i usually only smoke higher dollar cigars and i want something stylish to carry them in.

+1. The Xikar cutter is the apotheosis of all cutters. I still use the punch on churchills, but the cutter on everything ring gauge 48 and smaller.

Xikar also makes some very nice travel cases for cigars.

I love my xikar cutter. It is my favorite by far. It especially great with the free sharpening for life.....
