Joseph Rodgers 8/8 In Ambonya Burl & BR Cherry
This was my 4th resto, and I'm happy with the results. After realizing how must fun these projects are, I intentionally found a really messed up blade so that'd I'd have many, many hours of work to do
I know that most restorations start out with an abused blade, and while we've all seen it before, this one was in pretty bad shape (hence the before pics).
The scales are Ambonya Burl and Brazilian Cherry, and a little black plastic.. The cherry got a light ebony stain. The spacer and pins are brass, and the liners and 3rd pin spacer are aluminum.
The last pic is from the 1st test shave. It has since been back to the hones and shaves great.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.
A quick hit with a dremel then hand sanding; the 1st 4 hours or so at 60 grit, then up from there.

But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

That means a lot. Your work is an inspiration to me. I got the shape of your scales in my head, but I didn't want to copy you, so I made a somewhat similar design in photoshop.
And thanks to ya'll for the compliments. I don't have any prior experience with wood or metal work, but after all that I've learned here I've made something that I'm proud of.

The blade makes for a very dramatic before and after picture. I love those scales they are beautiful. The razor and scales together are a great design.

Absolutely stunning! You should change your forum name to "The Sandman." That blade is terrific!
The scales are magnificent - the burled wood is just - WOW!
I also like the little echo of the way the tang meets the blade in the shape of the scales at the wedge end.

Too much honor to me.
But I´m very happy to see, thats with the informations thats are exist, here and in other forums, it is possible for a beginner to make such a stunning work. If you could see my first try on scales some years ago...
And be sure, I know how much hours and care you put in this razor
