Adding joy to using vbulletin (aka This Forum) with Firefox
Dear all,
I hope this posting finds you all well and alive.
In my relentless search for tools that make using computers less painful, I recently stumbled across an addon for Firefox called FfVb. It can be obtained here. Below is a list of features. I could imagine that most of you would be interested in some of them, particularly the ignore option:
- Powerful ignore allows you to ignore users (threads, posts and even quotes), threads, keywords and prefix (in vb 3.7). They will be stripped right out of the page! You will forget they even exist!
- Highlight the threads/posts of users you like so that they're easier to find. You can now choose the colour to highlight as well.
- Context menus means no more typing or checking boxes. Simply right click on the user, thread or prefix that you would like to ignore or highlight and you can add them to your list with a single click!
- Preference window shows all your users, threads, prefixes and keywords in collapsible tree lists sorted by forum. Now you can remove users/threads/prefix/keywords as easily as you added them. Right click and choose "Remove" and their threads/posts will become visible again.
- Sub menu features a forum navigation, page navigation and convenient links to search, user cp, new thread and new reply as well as your button to launch the sidebar.
- Load your favorite forum's thread list into the sidebar and have it auto reload in intervals of 0s, 30s, 45s, 60s or 120s... also, you can choose to have the threads/user profiles launch into your active tab, a new tab or a new tab in the background. - Lists (except keywords) are managed by ID. Which means that if a user changes their name, or a thread title gets changed... they will still be on your ignore list.
- Lists are separate for each forum so user id #10 on Forum A will not be ignored on Forum B... since quite obviously, it will be someone different.
I hope you will find this as useful as I do. Below please find a screenshot of me killing the latest spammer.

Wow, we can fire all the mods and everybody can censor other people's posts to one's heart's content!
I always thought that spam killing sport that the mods engage in is a bit too tacky!

Don't worry, us Mods have many tricks up our sleeves to make people's lives miserable if we so desire. The least of which is the SRP Straight Razor Police Department.

His wife reported he was using his Iwasaki Razor and while shaving his neck it just seemed to have a mind of its own and came to life and cut his throat. Subsequent investigation revealed the razor belonged to Toshiro Kawasaki a WWll Kamakazee pilot who was killed when his plane slammed into the USS Yorktown. His last act was to shave with that razor. It is suspected the razor is haunted.

That's what I love about Firefox, the customizable features.
