Default what the heck? Beard tougher

Okay, so for the last two weeks my beard has become extremely tough. Never used to be! It has literally just happened, so I was wondering 1) if this is normal, 2) is it a result of shaving with a straight for the last year, and 3) what to do about it?

I cannot get it soft despite near-heroic attempts. It does not get soft in the shower, with hair conditioner or with pre shave oil. I can't get BBS anymore, and literally have to sharpen my razors after 3 shaves.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

It sounds like something other than your razor is causing the toughness of your beard, for it to have occurred over a couple of weeks. You mentioned your attempts to soften have been unsuccessful. I would ask if you have changed your diet or fluid intake recently, if I had my nursie hat on. Particularly, are you drinking enough water?

Hope this helps

No changes in anything. But I did have a touch of walking pneumonia three weeks ago, so maybe it was the antibiotic or something?

That would about fit the bill! Stronger the antibugics, the more & weirder side effects there are. Those prescribed for pneumonia of any hue are usually fairly ferocious.

Let us know if the toughness lessens. It may take a couple more weeks as the last dregs leave your system.

Hope this helps
