Cool! Now we just need to have names associated with the pictures!

I cant wait for the Pacific Northwest Inland Empire get together... I think it will be Me, GSsixgun, that one guy, a coyote and Bing Crosby's ghost.

Thanks for getting those pictures up Derek, that was quick.
I just wanted to point out that in the gallery of pictures, in the second
group photo Howard is picking his nose .

John

PS. A great time was had by all, even those who spent more than
they wanted to.

I'm the freakishly tall one in the back right corner.

I highy recommend y'all do this in your areas, it was fabulous, I hardly noticed the time flying by! Thanks to Howard for showing a lot of us the keys of honing, Paulo for the aluminum foil demo, Derek for helping me realize I don't REALLY have a collection problem, Alex for scale work, Andrew for the BK run...hell, thanks to EVERYONE.

Super-special thanks to John fo rmaking this all happen! I can't wait for the next one.

I'm the one lapping a coticule. I took off a little bit early since I had further to travel.

No kidding. Far more hair than I'd expect to see at a shaving meet.

Looks like a great get together. So, how long did it take for the scale making to get moved outside?

Thanks for posting the pics.

Default Names? Let's see how badly I butcher this...

From left to right, IIRC...

Alex (aka philadelph, makes gorgeous custom wooden scales... the two buildups he delivered to Derek yesterday were spectacular! *and* he started making a set of cocobolo scales at the get togetha! Clean shaven, and check out the photos... he sports a wicked cool straight razor tattoo on his right arm that is an actual image of his left hand holding a straight!)

Russ (very knowledgeable and cool guy, used to work for Woodworkers Warehouse?)

Jim (aka jcarey9149... the senior of our bunch, and easily the most bearded :P His drill press came in super handy for Alex's scale making demo, and I will be chatting more with Jim in the future)

John (aka kerryman71... the hall procurer, for which we're much obliged, and definitely a peer... born same year, multiple kids, SO's give us grief for our hobbies Enjoy your new wedge!)

Derek (aka ospannero... largest razor collection on display yesterday, in the 100 range... when I get either a tax return or economic stimulus check, I will be contacting Derek... thanks for taking the photos!)

Paulo (aka paulo... what a pain... wore shorts, hawked soap, babbled about removing rust with tin foil, tightened a few pins with Philadeph's ball peen hammer and wicked cool claw hammer/anvil, learned a few shaving tricks)

Andrew (a quiet gentleman, sporting the cleanest beard lines I've ever seen! Hope that travel kit and soap works out for you!)

Howard (*our* honemeister, but we'll share with you! A fountain of knowledge, gave a great demo on flattening stones, awesome stories, and a penchant for $10 Radio Shack microscopes)

Josh (aka kingofmalkier... another restoration wiz... and clean shaven! Gave a terrific rundown of the Dremel 400 XPR kit, which everyone who Dremels yesterday heartily endorsed, esp. with the flexshaft)

Gustav (my brother from another mother! Tall, bearded and kilted! The ever-kilted Gustav does historical re-enactments which includes shaving with a straight razor, and gave me some great advice on shaving my neck area! I gotta get me a utilikilt!)

And then there was the tall guy in the blue T-shirt named Dan (I think?)... he wasn't in the group photo, but you can see him making a slurry in the photos.

Those are just my quick notes... I had a *wonderful* time, and it'll be nice to stay in touch with and follow these guys on the forum.

And if anyone needs any VDH soap at $.75 a piece, or kits (soap/boar brush/bowl) at $4.00 a piece, PM me!

It was a blast, I'll post the photos I took shortly. Yup, I used to work for Wood Workers warehouse. But Paulo forgot to mention that aside from trying to hawk Hagendas soap he was good at trying "not" to sell his Proraso...

It was awesome to meet everyone- hope we'll do it again sometime.

*EDIT* Ok, here's the pictures I took.

About 15 seconds after we saw the pile of dust just from rough cutting! Watching Alex with the belt sander was pretty amazing. He just fiddles around for 5 minutes and bam! A perfectly shaped set of scales is sitting on the belt sander's table.

I wish I could have watched him do it, sounds like it was pretty impressive.

Yeah, there was that... but I'd rather be honest than make a sale. I guess that's why I'm an engineer (!)

That said, I also have a virtually full tube of CO Bigelow rebranded Proraso shaving cream that I'll sell for $7 (or was it $6?), because I hate the stuff and want to replace it with some KMF shaving cream.

Pretty sure it was a 1 inch wide belt. I'm going to have to get me one of those sanders too.
