Dallas - Fort Worth April Get Together
Hey Guys -
I've got to make this a quick post, but I wanted to see if there was interest to do the get-together again. John Crowley has offered to put on a HONING CLASS. His honing skills are highly respected and I for one would really appreciate some hints and techniques!
The suggested locale is Sherlocks http://www.mapquest.com/maps/lincoln...:d::25:::::/e/ at I30 and Collins St on the Southwest side of the street.
Whaddaysay? Who's with me? What Saturday works with your schedules?

April is terrible for me. Middle May would be better.

I'm tied up the weekend of the 19th unless things change between now and then.

the 19th would be tight, but if that is the date than so be it. later would be better than earlier.
plus i am edging toward a norton 4k/8k. so this may push me over the edge to buy one.

The 19th is fine - the only contingency is my wife is due in late April so I can plan but can't commit!

OK Guys -
Lots of mixed results with the 19th. No problem. Is there a date that most of us are good with? (Sometime after the 19th I presume.)
Let's hear it...

I'm booked for the 19th. The 26th is the only Saturday in April I could do this, that's providing gas isn't $4.00 a gallon by then.

You bet, I am in -
Just tell me when and where and I will be there boys -
I have some razors to sell too, thinking I would preview them at this meet and then put them up BST for general consumption? Your call -
I think Sherlocks would be pretty dark for a honing demo, but we could probably bring some lights? I would encourage everybody to bring the stones and we will just hone till they are right - lord knows I have about 50 cutters that need some love.
I will also plan to buy some stuff from John and have him bring it to the meet, might save shipping? He still hasn't put those Williams beauties from last time up on his site, has he?
Later,
K

if the bar is unsuitable for the meet due to lack of table space and lighting, I am willing to volunteer my house for the meet. dewey, if you think this would be more convenient, PM me and we can discuss it. I'm in hurst, which is nice and central.

Golden Corral restaurants offers free use of meeting areas. I don't know the details. They do get pretty crowded though.
