Great Pics!!!!
I am going to fly down to the "Gathering" in Asheville..... I hope it is as much fun as this one looked like it was....
OK I can bust out Tony a little bit that "Pank Genco"
I was searching on e-bay one night, and the wifely was looking over the shoulder, and we found that one..... "Buy it" she said.... I bought it
The idea was that she was going to add some BLING to it..... luckily for Tony, that never happened..
When I saw Tony's WTB post for a 6/8 I sent him the pics of the "Pank Razor"..... That baby had zero hone wear and sharpened up like a dream so now ya know the "Rest of the Story" of the pink Genco..
I'm not even sure if I had told Tony that whole thing
Looks like it was a great time guys thanks for sharing....

Haha, thanks for the info on the Pank Genco (my SO would probably have told me to bid on that razor too) but that is not the "whole" story of the razor. I want to know how the pank scales got on there in the first place, why, and who the owner was? Do you think that Genco produced the razor like that or was it a custom job?

I think the best source if information would be a catalog from Genco or Geneva. Short of that, I think the pink scales will remain a mystery. Since the razor was practically NOS, I would guess that the scales are original. However, who in the world wants pink?

The video that is filmed, is it possible to buy that on DVD?, Youtube is possibly ok, but you normally have to reduce the quality very much, so an DVD would have been preferable, if possible?

If there is a demand for a DVD then I can do that as well, maybe I will even do a more "professional" version in the future depending on what people want. I am going to try to finish editing it this weekend and see what I come up with, but it should be at least an hour fifteen to an hour and a half of just honing.

I'm glad everybody had a good time. The pictures look great and I'm looking forward to the video. I'm only sorry that I had to miss it due to a health issue. I'm definitely looking forward to attending the next one.
Congratulations to you, David, for your great hospitality. You obviously put a lot of work into it and it certainly appears your efforts paid off. well done.
Ken

That's interesting. Have you tried stropping between passes? Barbers used to do this so it is worth trying.

Here is a link to what Bill Ellis ended up donating for the raffel http://www.straightrazorplace.com/fo...304#post194304. I am going to do my best to set the next get together on a date that Mr. Ellis will be able to attend.
