Anybody interested in a Missouri area get together? No, you don't have to be from MO, you can drive from Canada if you want to. I am open to any time, other than the last week in October, but I would like to do it sooner.
I am planning on doing it at my little house, but I am open to other possibilities (I live in Sedalia MO, 65301).
I plan on BBQ-ing and or smoking various meats. If only a few folks it's my treat, if more then I will start a collection. There will be booze involved, BYOB of course.
So far, it would be: me, nun2sharp, hi_bud_gl (probably), and... YOU???
Just post here if you are interested, and we can get this ball rolling.

Despite my basically anti-social nature, at this point I will say definitely maybe--depending on what I have cooking in my lab and of course, what my wife has to say about it!
I figure everyone can bring a few razors and hones but I could also bring a microscope if that would help. Since I'd be passing through Mexico, I suppose I should bring some tequila as well.
Please keep me posted on this and thanks for the offer!

Is it a standard scope, or can you hook it up to a computer? I have my PC linked to my HDTV, so we could get some interesting pics on a bigger screen (37") if so.
OK gang we have the following folks in for the get-together. It would be nice if Lynn could stop by, so we will try for October 25, 2008.

I have a small house, but my wife and I are ready and willing to welcome straight razor fanatics to our humble little home.
Whoever is in, shoot me a PM and I will send you my full address.
I look forward to talking with you gents (and/or ladies) in person.
This is going to be fun! Take care all.
Before unfortunate rumors begin to spread, I'm looking at you nun2sharp...
I just passed the Boards exam to practice physical therapy. No more classrooms, no more books, no more teachers dirty looks. Schoooool's out for EVAH!!

Let me know when you will be doing this. I have family in St. Louis and come into town for a fishing trip at Bennett the end of Oct. and around Thanksgiving.
Thanks,
Lynn

No, sorry, it's just a standard stereo-microscope and does not have a camera tube. I find it to be the handiest thing for honing but its not amenable to photography.

update coming...update coming...update coming...
I will be posting a general update, and PM'ing everyone who expressed interest in coming out, pretty soon.
Since they opened a nice liquor store in Sedalia, we have access to a greater variety of beers, liquors, wines, cigars etc. than before. Awesome.

OK everyone, I am posting this just to let everyone interested know that I am sending out PM's with my address etc.
If you are interested in coming to the little get together, just let me know and I can send you directions. No big deal either way.
