My fiancé's first REAL shaves...
So a while back I bought a mint (basically) Gillette Lady DE razor (light blue) as a surprise for my fiancé. I had been trying to convince her to use straights or at LEAST a DE. She had expressed how pretty she thought the blue Gillette Lady was, so now she has one. Anyway, a few people sent some blades to try (this being the ladies forum I will publicly thank Viola for her contribution!) and after a while she finally tried her first leg shave with the DE. Well she is sold! She didn't have a brush to use or special soaps and was kind of waiting on me to get her that stuff (which I never said I'd do lol) but instead decided one day to use some cream I had and just lather with her hands. To make a long story short she loved it. Agreed that the shave was much nicer- smoother and less irritation. She also had no cuts or anything- she thought it was as easy as could be although she WAS being very careful. So that's all good.
Then one day I won't give the details but I was pretty much playing around looking at some razors I had lying around and she wanted me to try to shave some peach fuzz off of her arm or something. So I did. Welllll, one thing led to another and I ended up shaving her (I'm sure you can imagine what I mean) with a straight. Weird thing was- no lather, no water. Just a dry shave lol. Pretty much just because we weren't even in the bathroom. Funny thing about it is she loved it! Little irritation (only a little initially from the dry factor I would say), comfortable, and closer than she has ever had. The effects lasted for a whiiile too. No real growth for at least a couple days. We were both pretty much thrilled.
So anyway, she is now sold on the real shaving methods. I doubt she will use them every time as it does take longer, but one more has been converted! Just thought I should share that all here...

Sorry, I'm not taking on any more "projects". That means no scales, restoration, honing, you name it. Look for my custom razors in the future though!

Real shave with a DE? I dunno about that...
Seriously though, grats. It's certainly a big step (in the right direction).

Dunno if I made it clear but the second half of the post where I am doing the shaving is completely with a straight.

Congrats on the conversion, I gave my wife the same Gillette razor and she gave it a shot, but after seeing me bleed all over during my learning curve, she needs more arm twisting. I wish she was the web forum type, but that would take more arm twisting. Baby steps
