For that one, I used tung oil and spar varnish. Just use a lot of thin coats. Don't put spar on the insides of the scales, because it can cause problems with the tang discoloring. Or, just make your scales so the tang doesn't touch!
I saw you Meyers restorations and was wondering how you got that wondeful polish to it? I'm about to start restoring my collection of scraps and would love to have a collection of quality looking peoces like you Meyers blade.
