Thanks for the offers re honing. I'll see if take you up on that. I would like to learn to hone properly myself too, any idea on a good place to get an appropriate honing stone? What grade do you you use?

So far from what read a 4k/8k seems the best.. ..

Also any chance of getting assistance finding a decent blade, and getting you to help me hone it at least the first time, and hopefully can work on it in the future myself?
