Long time lurker, first time questioner... is the The World of Straight Razor Shaving DVD Multi-region? We are region 2 here in Ireland and have trouble watching region 1 USA & CANADA DVDs.

    Lynn,

I'm in the market for a Dubl Duck Wonderedge. I found this one on ebay and am wondering if it'll clean up nicely with restoration and honing. (Dubl Duck Wonderedge Solingen Germany Straight Razor - eBay (item 170437094319 end time Jan-31-10 18:37:31 PST)) I'm a relatively new straight shaver, and would like to have one of these razors. Do you think you could hone and restore it to good shaving condition for me, and if so what would it cost? I bought a razor from SRD, and still have a free hone certificate.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

An idea struck me after my second Manhattan last night. My new posting signature goes like this: "SRP = THE best place to get EDGE - U - KATED"

Funny what you think about in various mental states!

    Hey Lynn,

Appreciate the friend offer...haven't forgotten the fact that you took the time to answer a written honing question with a call...since then, I think you read my post on beginners suggestion on honing...essentially, I took followed your advice, reviewed the WIKI info and despite not knowing enough to know where I was at, just carefully, despite plenty of doubt, continued until I began seeing what you described to look for...so pleased that my first attempt provided a good shave edge as I expected to endure a period of failure and frustration...really enjoy the site...people are top notch at helping.
As evident in all things you are associated, my strong compliments on SRD...three orders, all perfect/fast. Regards Lynn & Thanks....Scott

thanks. I just got my first Dovo from your site and its awesome. It shaves really nice. Its time to start stropping, but I'm so worried about damaging the blade. I have seen all the videos, but i just wanna keep it in perfect condition.

Hi Lynn, got a question. The razors on SRD.com are beautiful. I'm wondering how honing/stropping affects the finish on the blade. I have stone sharpened my share of knives but never a razor, but i can tell that my steel gets scratched up dispite the blade being super sharp. Dose the honing process polish the steel so it doesn't look scratched up, or will all stra8 blades look scratched after being honed?

    Lynn,

I would like to send a razor for honing. What should I include for return shipping? Please send payment and shipping info.

    Thanks,

    Hi,
new here and would like to invite you to look at the Henkel I got over Xmas. It was my grandads and probly Great grandads. What/who do I need to do to get her sharpened. I'm not even sure that it needs it. You've built a wonderful place here with way more info than anyone could ever digest. Who woulda thought that shaving was so complicated. Wonder how much blood gramps lost trying to learn how to properly shave as there was not an internet in those days.
    thanks, BB

    Hey Lynn,

For your honing service, do you prefer ordering through this site, direct to you, or a third option or website I'm not aware of? I have four or five which will be coming your way over the next several months.

    Thanks!
