Sorry about takling so long, here are what I would suggest as first steps to improve your coffee.
1) You might want to consider roasting your own. It can be done with fairly minimal equipment. It is less expensive than buying gourmet and the coffee will be fresher. (fresher coffee is the first step down the road. A good source for green beans is the "green coffee buying club" do a search, join and check it out. There are a lot of folks to help you make decisions. Green coffee there is very good to great and prices are reasonable.
2) get a better grinder. The next big bang for buck is getting a better grinder. How good is up to you, but if you have some money after getting your roasting set up, this is the next place to focus.
Vacuum pot brewing is an excellent brewing method, so adding other kinds of brewers will be of lower importance, but I would suggest a French press or an Aeropress as methods you may want to check out and won't cost too much.

Pyment, I notice your vacuum coffee maker avatar. I too am a vacuum brewer. I use a Cory Stainless I got from ebay. It was my first ebay. I love the flavor of coffee made this way. I just use cheap on-sale coffee. Some day I shall get some gormet stuff and ruin my economy! Nice razor inputs. Thanks, Robert
