I am new to this site and would like to make contact with anyone local to the Scottish Borders or further afield. I am amazed at the amount of info and the friendliness of all fellow wielders of the straight blade !! Iam sure there are bound to be some fellow straight users somewhere around my area.

Welcome to SRP, Reiver. Makar is in Scotland for sure. Speaking of which in the next couple of weeks there's a get together in Birmingham - UK get together!.

I am a former scottish srp person and I also know that Makar and Stot are both up near Inverness, makar originally comes from ayrshire I believe and Garry is from Largs, not quite the scottish borders but definately central scotland, me Im from Buckie in the North East.

Their gathering is soon and Im sure if you went a new world would be opened up to you. Hope this helps,
