The FrameBack Fanciers
I would like to apply for a charter to start The FrameBack Fanciers I have 2 at the moment but intend to get more, so come on show us yours whether they be fixed or removable bladed there’s just something very elegant about them, but I am talking about proper FrameBack’s not the handles you put broken De blades into .
These are mine the first is a Sarry-Thiers Le Talisman, the second is a 1 I have just received from razorexchange and needs to be cleaned up a little just stamped as Sheffield made on the tang but there has to be lots more out there plain or fancy let’s see them

This club will go over pretty good! I have a nice 6/8's American made frameback and several English concave grinds, which are also known as "faux" or "fake framebacks"!

Nice razor! I wish that I could join your club but I sold my framebacks to help fund the custom Zowada that I have on order. Sometimes I really miss them but hopefully the Zowada will cheer me up.

 You sold your framebacks?
I take back every good thing that I have ever said about you!

The Sheffielders who made them knew them as "rattlers".

W. Gilchrist
Here is my first frameback. (My first top quality razor too.) And here is what I know about it:
It's a W. Gilchrist of Jersey City (1851-1861). I bought it from Lawrence Valmont. Josh Earl did the restoration work in December 2007. The blade is 11/16" and closes a hair off center. The scales are African Mahogany. The pins and spacer are brass. And I'm afraid to use it because I ruin it. =/
What a lovely razor! Thank you, Lawrence.

Here's my few; Robert Williams with mammoth ivory, a W&B that a dog chewed the scale end and a pair of Heljestrands. If that'll do it count me in.

Slant-Fan those Heljes are awesome !!! Very nice. I'll post a bunch at some point. I've got 4-5 that I can think of off the top of my head. Don't think they're all "done" yet though lol.

Sorry, I'm not taking on any more "projects". That means no scales, restoration, honing, you name it. Look for my custom razors in the future though!

George Wostenholm & Son
Here is my latest treasure...a 5/8" Wosty frameback with pressed horn scales. (At least, I think it's pressed horn.)
I love this little girl! Even more than the Gilchrist above. Crazy, huh?
(I really dig the little imperfections in old razors.)

I hope this will grant me entrance into the club.
Lecoultre FrameBack.
7/8 wide when blade is installed in frame.
Thumb screw gnarled like a watch stem, blades easily swap without tools.
Haven't cleaned up the other 3 blades just yet, but have to do soon cause its such a damn good shaver.

Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

come on gentlemen step right up, step right up. A troubling situation has arrived in the razor club and that is the use of thumbnail pictures. I know that some of you old timers still remember when the razor clubs were a thing of beauty! with large glossy pictures of razors and we viewed until our hearts content. but those days are through it would seem. I beseech all the members of the razor clubs to take the poll in the general section and vote to restore large pictures to our beloved razor clubs. It is up to us gent and together we can restore these clubs to there former glory!!!!!!
