Maestro Stag Takeda
Had enough??
Here is a beautiful Stag Horn Maestro Livi 7/8 Takeda steel razor. These are some of the nicest Stag Horn scales I have ever seen. Some pictures just tell the whole story. What a work of art. The spine work is also very nicely worked. I love the way this razor shaves. You cannot find a smoother closer shaver any where. The Maestro continues to produce some of the most beautiful razors in the world and this one is no exception.
It gets an everybody's thumbs up rating from me.......
Lynn

Beautiful razor, Lynn. Is the blade a little shorter than normal, or is it just the width that makes it look that way?

The blade is actually 3 inches long Josh. I ask the Maestro to make the tangs a little longer as it makes the razor a ton easier to handle, strop and hone.

It is suspected the razor is haunted.

Engraving?
Hi Lynn,
On the opposite side, where it says "Takeda Steel Japan". It appears that it's been etched into the metal with a hand held etcher, one of the vibrating types that are used to mark tools.
Is this the case? I couldn't really tell by looking at he picture.
Just curious, Thanks.

Correctomundo.
That is what the Maestro uses on the razor and handles.
Have fun,
Lynn

Actually I don't think the long tangs are such a great feature.
I shave with only 2 fingers on the tang, my ring finger on the shank and my pinky dangling loose.
The XL tang would make it a bit harder to handle I think.

I've never found tail length to be an issue until you get to the long De Pews-style monkey tails; and even there the problems are as much due to the short tang as the long tail.
