This is my first TI. My initial impression was very good. Simple black plastic scales, centered pins, and a beautiful blade. TI's honing appeared to be perfect. Very symmetrical grind. Observing the edge with a 10X loupe showed a very uniform edge. Balance is excellent and IMO felt very light-almost "sporty" if that makes sense

-it just felt very good in the hand. Think-Browning Hi-Power or Colt 1911. I was actually surprised at how sharp the blade was.
As a rule, I generally would rather hone my own razor than utilize other honemeister's. I never shave with a new razor without honing it. I followed a simple pyramid(Thanks Lynn) with a 4000 Norton and an 8000 Shapton glass hone, followed by stropping about 75 strokes on a small TI paddle strop. The result was a very keen edge without ANY difficulties. I have read posts about certain TI razors being a bit stubborn to prep-but this was not the case. The blade was perfectly flat and honed easily. I must admit that switching to a Shapton Glass hone made a huge improvement with ALL my razors. (I am currently waiting on a 16000 grit Shapton on Glass hone, I haven't tried going that fine in the past, so I'm anxious to give it a try)
Currently my "Favorite" razor is the Dovo "Bismarck"-I've become accustomed to its large blade and overall weight. This razor felt like a feather- I was excited to give it a shave.
With a 2 day growth-this would be a test for this light blade. Following my usual pre shave ritual I gave it a go.

This is ONE SWEET razor. The shave was effortless-I am indeed impressed both with the quality of the shave as well as the way this razor handles. Maybe I got lucky when I honed it-but I honestly give this razor a 8.5 out of 10. I think I have found a new favorite.

Granted it is not a showpiece but I am very pleased with this TI creation.
