Oh, here's a German one: Werner Herzog's 1976 movie Woyzeck, the title character played by Klaus Kinski shaves his captain right after the opening credits. He is almost spastic in his stropping technique and he really goes to town on the guy's face.

The opening scene of "After the Thin Man", William Powell, playing Nick Charles, is shaving with a straight in a railroad car bathroom. Nora, played by Myrna Loy, opens the door almost bumping him. He jokes "It's O.k. Darling, just practicing. Would you like a slice of neck?"

That Zohan movie has a very quick shot of him using a straight to make a goatee out of his beard. Adam Sandler has bad technique tho...

Smart Money
"Smart Money," James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, 1931.
James Cagney plays "Nick the barber" Lots of good views of a 1930's barber shop, and even a short scene of a guy shaving against the grain under his neck. He is doing it real fast, kind of flipping the razor, so it looks fake, but I tried it that way (only slower) and it actually works!
I also like the cupboard with a cubbyholes for each customer's shaving mug.
Fun if you like old-time barbershop stuff.

The Barber Shop
W. C. Fields as Cornelius O'Hare (gotta love the pun).
It's on Utube. Shows him honing his razor on, well, I believe that is a brick he is using.
He also shave someone later, and the famous scene with the dog...

I was just watching True Lies again and now... straight razor savvy, I noticed that the middle Eastern gentleman in the bathroom scene attacks Arnie with a straight... wielding it like a butterfly knife.

One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider.

Way, way back i saw Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I had read about straights in westerns, but that was the first time i saw one in use.
There was also one used in Tenebrae - French movie from very early eighties.

Any idea which one? I just did a quick google and couldn't find an answer; I have all the Bonds, but I'd rather not use that search method.

Why not use the search method, it sounds like a good weekend to me.

I accept your challenge.
Can one man withstand that much Bond? I'm going to find out. Starting tonight, I will watch all the Bond movies (or until I find that scene) within the length of one standard weekend.
Saturday + Sunday + Friday night = 24 + 24 + 12 = 60 hours / 21 movies
It's going to be hard, but I'm going to try.
Edit: I have to wait till the weekend; I have class Wed night...

Actually, Rider is shaved by Diana (sigh!) while they're both in the bathtub. Now that's the way to shave!
