Default My new 5/8 "Le Dandy"

I have come to the conclusion that I just prefer the precision of a 5/8 blade to that of larger blades. I sold off all of my larger blades and spotted this vintage 5/8 TI "Le Dandy" at SRD and immediately had to have it.

I get thru the first shave. While it was a good shave, the blade just felt "big". The blade is stamped 5/8 and the box matches, so, I thought nothing more of it for the day.

Today I shaved with one of my other blades and it hit me. There's no possible way that thing is 5/8. So, I measured. 6/8 on the nose.

Has anyone ever encountered this before? please tell me I am not a crazy person.

The virtue of the fact your beautiful razor is a solid 3/4" wide does not in itself guarantee your sanity. I would have to consider further evidence before making such a decision.

It does happen. Not all razors measure at the size they are labled by the manufacturer. I couldn't say why that's the case, but it is worth noting that not all manufacturers use the same points when deciding the width or a razor. Some use the top of the spine, others the part that rests on the hone, etc.

I think some measure from the very top of the spine and some measure from where the "grind" starts. A big 5/8 or 11/16 is really my favorite size razor. It looks like a nice one either way.

Hmmm. Does this mean that you are considering divesting yourself of this lovely razor? Minnesotans may be able to offer comfort and aid to next door neighbors.

Highlighted area points to some sort of irrational behavior. Selling off razors?
