Default Any collective knowledge of this razor?

I recently picked this one up. Damascus Crucible Steel etched into the blade. HS Touma, New York.

It honed up very nice and has a great feel to it. Is anyone familiar with this model? Approximate age?

Just an update. It has a nice 'sing' to it and shaves very well

I mostly see full hollow grounds that sing. not many singing single grind razors...
Nice razor, I like the etch work.

Thanks for sharing.

I used to have an older razor marked "Damascus" on the blade. I think it was more of a brand name than true Damascus /Wootz steel, but who knows. I'm not a metallurgist. It did shave pretty decently.

The one you have looks to be in considerably better shape than the one I remember owning in the past.

Enjoy that razor

He he... I'm sure that the 'damascus' and 'crucible steel' were marketing terms It is not Wootz Damascus.

It's not a Touma!

In all seriousness thought, I have nothing to add about the razor's origin.

Thanks for the compliment.
I thought it looked familiar.
I take notes on what blades I hone and for who so I had a look just now. Nothing helpful still. Judging by my lack of notes it honed up with minimal diffculty and took a satisfactory edge. I finished it on a chinese 12k using tape only for the last 20 passes. The bevel is therefore standard and this blade should be honed normally in the future (no tape).

I still cannot add anything about the maker itself, but the blade seems okay.
